July 21, 2019 (Pt II)

To All Subscribers:

In a video, I have compiled performance statistics of the swing setups from June 12 to July 17, closed trades only. June 12 was when they began to be consistently added to the Focus List (only a few were mentioned in the Marder Reports).

A few caveats:

This is a small sample size, so any conclusions should be taken with a grain of salt.

Spreads and commissions were not included.

In the video, two losing trades were mentioned as being excluded. Actually, there were three: AKRO, FVRR, and WORK. These were excluded since they were recent IPOs with less than three weeks of price history. The added baggage that a recent IPO carries in the form of noise disqualifies this type of stock from being a swing candidate in the future. I believe excluding them would make the results more representative of what the future could look like.

Exiting a position at +1R facilitates the testing of a strategy. This can be viewed as a base case. A swing trader may be able to add value by using a trim and trail method of trade management. Of course, swing entries can also be used for position trades.

Past performance is not necessarily indicative, nor is it a guarantee, of future results.
